Week One
Shapes with Pen Tool worksheet
THIS VECTOR WAS A NIGHTMARE FOR ME!!! I had difficulty in understanding how it worked and it took me what seemed like the longest time to complete the task!!!
Vector Logo Redesign
I decided to redesign the Shell logo as Shell is a company primarily based in the oil industry.
However. that in my opinion the logo does not really communicate it so I was going to try to change that.
I had decided to flip the original logo upside down and I edited the vector lines so that the logo looks like it is melting as it give the illusion that it is made of liquid, similar to oil.

I am glad to say that I have achieved my aim for the logo redesign, as the logo looks all melty and oily, perfect for a company that specialise in the oil industry.
Research: Vector vs Raster Graphics
Vector
A vector image is an image that is built on shapes and lines created based on mathematical equations. While this is a less common way for digital images to be create and a lot more challenging, it maintains its quality no matter the size or how people look at it. These are mostly used by professional graphic designers and illustrators.
Raster
A Raster image is an image that is built on little squares or ‘pixels’. This is the most common way of building a digital image but it does run the risk of decreasing quality upon zooming in or making the image smaller.
The Bézier Game
As I was still struggling on how to do all this vector stuff, I decided to play this game just so I could practice more and try to figure things out, thanks to this game, I believe I got a better understanding of the process.
